Paul has devoted his career over the last 15 years to defending licensed healthcare providers and facilities. Paul is a battle-tested trial attorney who has tried numerous medical malpractice, elder abuse/neglect and wrongful death cases to a verdict, with a stellar track record. Paul is licensed to practice in all the state courts of Arizona (2009) and New Mexico (2016), as well as in the United States District Courts for the Districts of Arizona and New Mexico (2009 and 2018 respectively), The United States Court of Appeals For the Ninth Circuit (2016), as well as the United States Supreme Court (2017), where he was sworn in by Chief Justice John Roberts.

Paul was nominated by his peers in the legal community as a “Rising Star” in the area of medical malpractice defense by Southwest Super Lawyers (top 2.5% of attorneys under age 40) for seven consecutive years (2014-2020), was named as one of the “Top 40 Litigation Lawyers in Arizona Under 40” by The American Society of Legal Advocates in 2016, and was featured in the article “Young Guns” in the May 2012 issue of Attorney At Law magazine. In 2017, Paul was selected as an Associate Fellow in The Litigation Counsel of America (LCA), a network of the top 3,500 trial lawyers in the country. Paul has been rated by Martindale-Hubbell as “AV Preeminent”, and “Superb” by Avvo.com; both of which are the highest possible ratings available.

Paul regularly volunteers his services in the community by performing pro bono legal work for victims of domestic violence, and by participating in the Channel 12 News “Lawyers on Call” through the State Bar of Arizona, and by serving as a competition judge and evaluator at the Richard Oplinger Closing Argument Competition at the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University. When he is not practicing law, Paul enjoys spending time with his beautiful wife Heather, and their two daughters.

Blase is a veteran trial attorney and litigator who provides valuable assistance to SLG in many high exposure cases. Blase attended law school at LSU before becoming licensed to practice in Lousiana in 2002. In 2008, he relocated to Arizona with his wife and practiced law in Arizona at a well known defense firm for several years before starting his law firm in Lafayette in 2014. Martindale Hubbell has rated Blase as AV Preeminent; which is the highest rating available.

Blase and his wife Erica (also studying to become an attorney) have five beautiful children who keep them both very busy.

Christine recently relocated to Arizona (her prior home) from North Carolina, and she brings with her 28 years of invaluable legal experience to SLG. She is a seasoned e-discovery attorney, published author, and legal educator. She recently completed the second edition of her legal textbook, “eDiscovery for the Legal Professional”, published by Wolters Kluwer’s Aspen Publishing. Her past experience in commercial litigation and e-discovery provides invaluable discovery and trial support to the SLG litigation team and its clients.

Christine is a graduate of The University of Kansas School of Law and obtained her undergraduate degree from San Diego State University. She is licensed to practice in Kansas (inactive), and Arizona.

Denise A. Atwood, RN, JD

Denise is a registered nurse with over 30 years of adult and pediatric: intensive care, trauma, burn, emergency, and surgical nursing as well as experience in employee health, infection control, compliance, and risk management. Additionally, she has served in a number of leadership roles over the past 20 years.

As a licensed attorney, since 2010, she has represented health care providers before licensing boards, represented health care facilities in administrative hearings, represented providers during fact witness depositions and in court testimony, and written appellate briefs. Before coming to Sheston Law Group, PLLC Denise was a Chief Risk Officer and Associate General Counsel for a multi-specialty provider group.

Denise is a published author and has presented regionally and nationally on a variety of topics ranging from health care law, ethics, compliance, risk management, and nursing. As an adjunct professor at Ottawa University (bachelor’s level), the University of Phoenix (master’s level – nursing), and Grand Canyon University she taught college classes focusing on health law and ethics and business law and ethics.

Her past volunteer work focused primarily on children in foster care at Arizonans for Children, Inc. (Tempe, AZ) and previously at Christian Family Care (Phoenix, AZ).

Kelly M. Pullaro, RN, BSN, MBA

Kelly has been a registered nurse since 2008, and was formerly a Risk Manager for Phoenix Children's Hospital. In 2018, Kelly served as the President of the Arizona Society of Healthcare Risk Management (AzSHRM), and she has worked as legal nurse consultant on medical defense cases since 2015. Kelly's extensive medical experience and knowledge are an integral part of litigation process at SLG, including identifying complex medical causation issues hidden in the medical records, the selection of highly-qualified medical and nursing expert witnesses based on the unique contours of each case, and preparing SLG attorneys for depositions and trial. Outside of her work at SLG, Kelly is an avid dog lover and enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

Sadek R. Ebeid, M.D., CMD

Medical Advisor / Physician Consultant

Dr. Ebeid has been practicing medicine in Arizona since 1996. After completing his residency at Good Samaritan Medical Center and St. Joseph's hospital in Phoenix, he chose to remain in the Valley of the Sun, and in 2014, he became a Certified Medical Director (CMD) with the American Board of Post-Acute and Long Term Medicine. Dr. Ebeid currently serves as Medical Director (for Arizona) for several national assisted living organizations, and he is also Medical Director for a number of skilled nursing facilities throughout Phoenix and Northern Arizona.

Dr. Ebeid provides invaluable medical analysis and insight to SLG in complex medical cases, as well as to collaborate with SLG attorneys in the development of cutting edge risk management practices and policies for their healthcare clients. 

Dr. Ebeid attributes his deep understanding of law and the ethics of professional practice to his late father, Dr. Raouf Ebeid, who is renowned for being one of the top law professors and published legal scholars in the Middle East. Trusted by all, Dr. Ebeid takes great pride in protecting patients' rights, as well as supporting the healthcare organizations entrusted with their care.

Heather L. Bohnet

Heather Bohnet recently joined SLG as the Litigation Paralegal. Heather comes to the Sheston Law Group after working for the State of Arizona for the last 7 years, where served as Crime Victim Services Program Manager and before that the Systems Improvement Grant Coordinator, for the Arizona Criminal Justice Commission. Heather earned her undergraduate degree in criminal justice from the University of Wyoming, and her Master of Arts degree in criminal justice from Arizona State University. Heather brings to SLG her previous experience working as a legal assistant and paralegal for a local medical malpractice defense firm. Most of the time you can find her at the baseball field watching her 2 young boys. In her downtime, she also enjoys spending time with her family and going on the occasional run.

Kathie is from Cleveland, Ohio and moved to Arizona in 1960. Her entrepreneurial spirit led her to start her own medical transcription business where she worked with many healthcare providers in various medical specialties. Through this work, Kathie became well-versed in medical terminology and knowledgeable about medical record organization. After selling her successful business, she joined Sheston Law Group in 2021 as Director of Medical Records.

In her spare time, Kathie enjoys baking and gardening, but her biggest joy comes from spending time with her family.
